Electric Rays

In order to participate in Minisink Valley Aquatics as an Electric Ray, swimmers must be able to complete a 25 yard Freestyle and 25 yard Backstroke. Swimmer must also be able to perform a 15 second back float.

Electric Ray is our beginner level developmental training group. Ages for this group range from 5-10 years of age. This program is designed for novice swimmers. Electric Ray’s goal is to develop good practice habits and stroke mechanics while providing a fun and safe atmosphere for swimmers. Introduction to basic competitive swimming is also a major focus of this group.

Electric ray puts emphasis on team building, sportsmanship and good practice habits. Proper lane etiquette is another important component to this training group; swimming patterns, send-offs and passing skills will be stressed. Legal technique is taught in all four competitive strokes. Swimmers will be introduced to the pace clock and taught how to complete practice sets correctly in this level. Goal Charts will be used to chart swimmers progress with training group goals.

Electric Rays practice five (5) days a week for one (1) hour per day.
