Devil Rays

In order to participate in Minisink Valley Aquatics as a Devil Ray, swimmers must be able to complete all Torpedo Ray goals and criteria.

Devil Ray is our first advanced training group. Swimmers 10 and up are eligible for this program. Refinement of competitive strokes continues and a greater focus is put on racing and racing strategies. Endurance is the major concentration for training and Perfect Technique and Power are the focus for racing. Swimmers progress and move forward with an increase in volume and intensity during each workout.

In this level we introduce goal setting, which helps each swimmer identify their personal goals for each season. A dry land program is also incorporated into select training sessions. The focus of this program is to improve each athlete’s flexibility and core strength.

All ESSL TEAM MEETS and all HOME USS Meets are MANDATORY.
Devil Rays practice five (5) days a week for two (2) hours per day.
Practices are held Monday-Friday between 5:15 and 7:15 PM.
We recommend attending at least 4 practices per week.
